What is Analytical Hypnotherapy?
Our character and personality are shaped by our past experiences. How we behave in the present often has its roots in the past. Sometimes we would like to change certain aspects of our behaviour but we just can’t seem to do it.
If there is an unexplained symptom or pattern of behaviour that we just cannot control, there could be a hidden reason for that problem locked away somewhere in our mind and this can be responsible for the way we now feel and behave.
If a person experiences some kind of emotional trauma, the human mind can, in certain circumstances, take evasive action by taking the memory of that unacceptable experience and locking it away in our deeper subconscious region. The mind is trying to ‘blot out’ the experience for us and this phenomenon usually, but not always, happens in childhood. However, although the trauma has been hidden away in the subconscious, it still has the power to affect us on a conscious level, sometimes causing unexplained symptoms and emotions.
Because our conscious mind is unaware, or not fully aware, of the real cause of our distress, we cannot overcome it. Therefore, it may be necessary to uncover those repressed memories, and come to terms with them, before our symptoms can be effectively dealt with.
Used to give an insight into the subconscious triggers which can cause many unexplained symptoms, Analytical Hypnotherapy is a psychotherapeutic technique which seeks to find the root causes of a problem, enabling unconscious change in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviours and feelings. This releases emotional and psychological issues and enables us able to live more fully.
